Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 25, 2026
1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains what information Resume Candle ("we", "us") collects when you use the Service, and how it is used, shared, and protected.
2. Information We Collect
- Account information (name, email address) via our authentication provider, Clerk.
- The resume and job description text you submit for analysis, and content generated in response (match scores, feedback, rewritten resume text).
- Billing information processed directly by Stripe; we do not store your card details ourselves.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To run the resume-to-job-description analysis you request.
- To manage your account, subscription, and credit balance.
- To communicate with you about your account or the Service.
4. Third-Party Processors
We rely on the following third parties to operate the Service:
- Clerk — authentication, account management, and sign-in (including Google sign-in).
- Stripe — payment processing for subscriptions and credit top-ups.
- Anthropic — processes the resume and job description text you submit to generate your analysis, under Anthropic's own data handling terms.
5. Data Storage
Resume Candle does not maintain its own database of user content. Your account, plan, and credit information is stored in your Clerk user profile. Resume and job description text you submit is sent to Anthropic to generate your analysis and is not separately retained by us afterward.
6. Cookies & Sessions
We use session cookies managed by Clerk to keep you signed in. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.
7. Data Retention
Account information is retained for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your Clerk profile and associated metadata (plan, credits) are removed.
8. Your Rights & Choices
You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by contacting us. You may delete your account at any time.
9. Data Security
We rely on Clerk and Stripe's security infrastructure for authentication and payment data, and take reasonable steps to protect information within our control. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
10. Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed to individuals under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
12. Governing Law
This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of Canada, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
